What's the booking process?

Contact us via our email or our Facebook page (phone # coming soon!) to inquire about booking.  If we have availability for your dates, then we'll send you a link to fill out our Dog Info Form.  We'll also ask for your vaccine records.  Closer to your booking, you'll get a chance to sign our contract and fill out a form with emergency contact info and feeding instructions.

Payment is generally expected at pickup, but for longer stays we may require a $50 deposit towards your bill at drop off.

How will I get updates?

Caniday is committed to open communications with owners!  Unless you ask us not to (some people want peace on their vacation and we get that!) you will receive daily updates of how your pup is doing, pictures included.  We're working on getting a phone set up, but for now these will come via FB messenger or email.  At the end of your stay we will also email you a "report card" summary that includes confirmation of meals/medications given, data on walks and crate time, and any notes we want to pass along.  This system holds us accountable to owners, promotes transparency, and also lets us hang onto the info for next time your dog stays with us.

What should I bring with my dog?

The only required items are any medications/supplements your dog is on, and enough of their own food to last for their stay plus a couple of extra days.

You're welcome to bring any comfort items, treats, or things your dog is used to that will help them feel settled, but be aware we are not liable for any lost/damaged belongings.  We have plenty of crates, blankets, beds, toys, bowls, puzzles, and treats to share!

What are the vaccine requirements?

Caniday requires all visiting dogs to be current on the following vaccines:

- Rabies
- DHLPP
- Bordetella (we offer in-house intranasal vaccines for an additional fee)

- Lepto (not a requirement but highly encouraged)

You can provide us with a copy of your vaccine records, or you can give your vet permission to give out information and we'll contact them directly.

Dogs must also be flea free and on HW prevention.  We recommend all dogs be spayed/neutered but we will board intact dogs on a case by case basis.

How much do dogs interact?

We supervise the dogs at all times, unless they're crated, and make decisions on an individual basis.  Dogs who want to play all day are encouraged to, but dogs who want a break, prefer to be alone, or aren't getting along with the others won't be forced into a situation they're not comfortable with.

We have the experience and set up to offer boarding for semi-reactive dogs: we can't keep them from seeing one another, but we can ensure no contact with other dogs and plenty of human attention.

What if my dog is special needs?

Our team has years of experience with all kinds of dogs, and Rachel worked in veterinary medicine for 7 years before moving to NY.  We are committed to providing fun and safe care for all our canine customers!

We are fine with medication administration (no extra fees apply except for injectable medications), and we understand mobility Issues, hearing loss, seizure protocols, and more.  Rachel also has a very special love and understanding of blind dogs.

If there's anything you're concerned about, just ask!  We'd be happy to discuss our experience, go over treatment plans, and make accomodations.

Where will my dog stay?

We have multiple kennel-area rooms and spaces that allow for separation, crates of all sizes, two different fenced yard areas and land for walks, and a spacious dog-friendly upstairs living area.  For everyone's safety, all dogs (even our own!) are crated or contained on the rare occasion we have to leave them home alone, and at night for bedtime.

What about the resident dogs?

All of our dogs are vaccinated, on preventatives, fixed, and dog tolerant.  They are crated when we are gone and carefully supervised when interacting with our boarders!

Peppy is an 8 year old Boston terrier/lab mix who is dog neutral.  She is extremely adept at reading other dogs (and she's had a lot of experience!).  Peppy loves going on walks around the property, playing with balls, and napping in the sunshine.  She is happy to play and chase friends, but great at minding her own business too.

Cassie is an 8 year old Chihuahua, and she lives for the window seat!  Cassie mostly keeps to herself, not seeking out friends but not causing any trouble.  She has been known to cuddle other calm pups, and will stand up for herself with an amusing tiny growl if she meets any really big dogs.  Cassie is the only one who gets to sleep in the bed.

Rigatoni is a 2.5 year old shepherd/hound mix who loves having playmates!  He is a very sweet boy, submissive in his play style, and super goofy and clumsy.  Rigatoni loves toys and loves sharing them with dogs and humans alike.
