The Caniday team has over fifteen years of combined professional dog care experience. In addition to private pet sitting and fostering for rescues, founder Rachel has worked in kennel care, grooming, and veterinary medicine settings. Before moving to New York Rachel was hosting doggy daycare in her Delaware home full time, and she is thrilled to be able to continue to offer her experience and care in her new home state. A life-long owner of dogs, Rachel knows how hard it is to leave your dog with someone; the Caniday team is passionate about providing a home away from home for your beloved pets and a worry free experience for you!
Meet our Team
Hannah Colton
Social Media Manager
Hannah is heavily involved in the local dog community and currently pursuing professional dog training qualifications. Along with creating our online content, she helps with canine care and Caniday marketing. She is a member of the North Country Kennel Club. She has a special place in her heart for dogs who struggle with reactivity (and their owners!)
Rebecca
Daycare Staff Lead
Rebecca is a zoology major at SUNY Oswego and is excited for the chance to be working with animals. She has always had dogs and cats of her own but this is her first job in the animal field (apart from the occasional dog, cat, and bird sitting.) She has an old man beagle named Hunter, and a loud orange cat named Merlin! When she’s not hanging out with them she loves being outside, playing volleyball, and cooking.
Rebecca is a favorite of many of our dogs, and she is a CaniDaycare staple, working every Tues/Thurs to help Rachel with supervision and daycare activities!
Miles Spagnola
Facilities Director
While still a full time active duty service member, Miles lives on the property and his lifelong passion for dogs and home improvement projects makes him a valuable part of our team. Miles helps out wherever he is needed, and loves getting to meet new doggy friends! His favorite breed of dog is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and his favorite dog activity is cuddling.
Paighton
Canine Care Team Member
Paighton has worked on cars professionally in the past, but animals have always been a love of hers and she's excited to be able to learn more and work with dogs.
She loves her own dogs Daisy and Chunk, they are the biggest babies you'll ever meet (ahem... Saint Bernards).
Paighton loves walking the dogs and playing fetch, she is great at keeping up with our teenage puppies!
Peyton
Canine Care Team Lead
Peyton is a senior at Penn State majoring in Animal Science, and minoring in equine sciences. She has worked with animals for as long as one can remember and worked with large animal vets, dog groomers and more. She is a huge horse person and has 2 horses and a corgi named Shorty.
Peyton is great at introducing dogs to each other and running daycare playgroups, and she also makes all of our bandanas by hand!
Zade
Canine Care Team Member
Zade loves working with animals whenever she has the chance, and joins our team after a professional internship with a large commercial boarding facility. She has 2 of her own dogs. One of them is Zoey and the other is Jayne. Zoey is a border collie x Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with Jayne being a pitbull x lab mix.
Zade does a great job with some of our more "special" boarders, and is a pro at reading canine behavior!
